AS and A Levels are examinations students usually take after finishing with their IGCSEs, these exams are a pre-requisite to admission requirements to enter into a university for Post-Graduate degrees.
AS-Level and A-Levels explained: AS (Advanced Subsidiary) Levels are the shorter versions of the total A level programmes, think of it like the first year of the programme. These exams are typically taken in Year 12. AS Levels could in the past stand as a qualification of their own, meaning students could use the AS Levels grades to apply for university. However, due to the reforms made in 2015 meant that AS Levels, which would once account for 50% of your grade no longer count towards a student’s qualifications and the student, will now have to take more exams at the end of Year 13. Most pupils usually take 3-4 subjects, exams are written, although some subjects may require additional coursework along with exams.
AS & A-Level testing is a partnership between the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and the British Council in Thailand. The test can be taken twice a year, first time during May to June, and the second time during October to November. Students can check for information on applying for the test, testing venue, and times and dates at British Council, Thailand.
